More material efficiency standards are on the way
The summer holidays have been busy for the standardisation community as two of the standards developed under Commission Mandate 543 on material efficiency underwent a formal vote procedure.
The FprEN45553 proposing a “General method to assess the ability to remanufacture energy-related products” received a negative formal vote, preceded by our unfavorable formal opinion for this standard, stating that it was not sufficiently developed. Experts will now work towards improving the standard.
The FprEN45555, however, defining “General methods for assessing the recyclability of energy-related products” received a positive formal opinion and will, therefore, proceed to publication.
