Video – the case for renewable heating

Policymakers must step up and deliver on climate targets by phasing out the installation of new fossil fuel boilers in the EU by 2030. Learn how in our new video.

Did you know that a staggering 85% of the energy consumed in our homes is used for heating and cooling? With 75% of that coming from fossil fuels, it pollutes as much as all the cars in the EU.

But there’s a solution at our fingertips. By swiftly phasing out the installation of new fossil fuel boilers, we could achieve remarkable results:

  • Cut carbon emissions from EU buildings by 46%
  • Reduce the EU’s dependence on external energy sources
  • Create 3 million new jobs
  • Stimulate a 2.5% growth in annual GDP
  • Slash household heating bills by an average of 860 euros per year
