We are hiring – Climate and Energy Trainee
ECOs is looking for a motivated Climate and Energy Trainee, who will support the work of the Climate and Energy team in the ECOS Secretariat based in Brussels.

Your main tasks will be to:
- Assist programme managers in day-to-day tasks relating to including environmental aspects in policy and standards in support of ECOS’ Climate and Energy work.
- Research, analyse and report on policy and standardisation developments related to:
- Ecodesign and energy labelling, particularly with a focus on energy-related appliances, such as heating and cooking products.
- Demand-side energy flexibility, particularly from heavy loads such as electric vehicles and heat pumps.
- Horizontal EU product policy, including the revision of the Ecodesign Directive, the Ecodesign for Sustainable Product Regulation, and Coolproducts campaign.
- Assist programme managers in the development of communication material, including blog posts and articles.
- Support the programme managers in the organisation of meetings and events.
- Assist with fundraising, reporting and other administrative tasks.
Skills and experience required:
- University degree in environmental sciences, engineering, or political science with a focus on European affairs.
- Good understanding of EU policy-making process.
- Commitment to the values, vision and mission of environmental NGOs.
- Strong analytical skills & ability to present technical information in simple terms.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent writing, communication, and networking skills.
- Professional fluency in oral and written English, and other languages are an asset.

- A six-month (renewable according to profile) full-time paid traineeship under the Belgian CIP framework (Convention d’immersion professionnelle), plus meal vouchers, reimbursement of public transport expenses, and 2 days of holidays per month.
