Recommendations for smart metering system rollout

As part of the editorial team, ECOS has contributed to the report ‘Interoperability of the H1/H2 interfaces of the Flexible Demand Architecture applied in the large scale roll-out of smart metering systems in EU Member States, due to be published later this year. Developed by the Smart Grid Task Force Expert Group ‘Standards and Interoperability’, the report is intended to establish the process through which Member States may ensure interoperability using standards for the provision of energy services and Demand Side Flexibility (DSF).

Drafting the regulatory recommendations section, ECOS contributed to ensure that process was clear, understandable, and that any templates used for the process of reaching interoperability remained concise and easily reusable across smart metering deployments. The recommendations of the report are expected to be considered by the European Commission for inclusion in the Winter Energy Package, due at the end of 2016.

ECOS is co-funded by the European Commission and EFTA
