Over 120 signatories world-wide support our Declaration on Waste Containing Nanomaterials

Overwhelming support from over 120 organisations and individuals, including environmental and consumer groups, occupational health experts, and three Goldman Environmental Prize winners has been given to the Declaration on Waste Containing Nanomaterials produced by ECOS, and partners CIEL and Öko-Institut

The declaration sets out demands to ensure that a precautionary approach is taken with waste containing nanomaterials as too little is still known about their impact on human health and the environment.

The 7-point demand declaration addresses issues along the supply chain, from producer responsibility and restricting waste transport to stimulating innovation in waste prevention and supporting the circular economy without introducing new environmental risks. The declaration was created in response to the EU’s Circular Economy package and CEN activities relating to waste and nanomaterials.
