Hands-on tips & joint discussion: a recap of ECOS training session
Our training on standardisation and the environment brought together our members and experts for an interactive session in Brussels. It was the second part of a training programme following an introductory webinar.
The training allowed participants to gain first-hand insights into the standardisation system from a range of different stakeholders.
ECOS Policy Director Christophoros Spiliotopoulos illustrated the standardisation process and its close links to regulation, while our experienced expert Catriona McAlister gave practical examples of how to defend environmental interests in standardisation.
A discussion with Ruben Dekker, DG Environment, European Commission, and Cinzia Missiroli, CEN CENELEC Management Center, brought in different perspectives on ECOS role in the standardisation system and on why it matters for environmental NGOs to be involved.
Interactive exercises and role plays, such as giving feedback to a draft standard, enabled participants to directly immerse in the standardisation process. They also fostered informal discussion and exchange of views and experiences.
ECOS organises exclusive training sessions and other capacity building opportunities each year for its members and experts only. Would you like to be part of it next year?
