Call for experts – ecodesign of electronics and horizontal material efficiency

ECOS is looking for ecodesign experts in the field of electronics and ICT products to represent and defend environmental interests in the development of standards and related policies. The deadline to apply is 4 January 2026.

Our lives and homes are full of electronic products – much of which eventually becomes waste that has never been properly recycled. To limit the growing impact of electronic products, they must become cheaper and easier to repair, reuse, and, eventually, recycle. Building on our longstanding efforts, ECOS will keep on shaping a greener future for electronics.

Interested candidates should be able to demonstrate in-depth technical and scientific knowledge on the resource and/or energy efficiency of energy-related products, with a specialisation in ICT products such as smartphones, computers, printers and servers/data storage products.

The nominated experts will:

  • Participate in technical meetings of ITU-T, ETSI, CEN-CENELEC and/or IEC to promote ECOS position;
  • Prepare technical input through official comments and contribution to ECOS position papers;
  • Report to and liaise with the responsible ECOS Programme Manager;
  • Exchange information with ECOS member organisations and other experts when needed.

What we offer

  • A daily fee for preparation of meetings, participation and reporting, as well as other relevant tasks;
  • Reimbursement of travel costs;
  • Per diem to cover accommodation and subsistence costs.

How to apply

Please send your CV and cover letter outlining your motivation and demonstrating your suitability to support and represent ECOS to mathieu.rama@ecostandard.org by 04/01/2025.

Applications will be assessed by the secretariat on a rolling basis, applying ECOS procurement policy. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
