Energy Label Revision – Where we are now

With the Energy Label needed by consumers, industry, and public authorities alike, it was believed that the revision seeking to simplify and improve the EU Energy Label would be a simple task. However, although the Commission proposal was released a year and a half ago, the European institutions have not yet reached an agreement.

Currently, intra-institutional battles are holding up any agreement, thereby hindering EU consumers to save money on their energy bills, and simultaneously failing to foster energy savings. ECOS, as one of the leaders of the Coolproducts campaign with the European Environmental Bureau (EEB),
