ECOS works with ISO on Circular Economy
ECOS was recently accepted as liaison organisation in the new ISO Technical Committee (TC) 323 dedicated to circular economy. Together with delegates from all over the world, we attended the first meeting of the TC in Paris.
The overall objective of the Committee is “standardisation in the field of Circular Economy to develop frameworks, guidance, supporting tools and requirements for the implementation of activities of all involved organisations, to maximise the contribution to sustainable development”.
During the meeting, Programme Manager Lindsey Wuisan presented our work on circular economy. Discussions focused on the principles and framework of circular economy and measuring tools/methods to assess the level of circularity. There was a strong sense of urgency and ambition, but the TC members will need to find consensus among the many different perspectives. We are looking forward to participating in the TC work!
