ECOS speaks at Workshops in Cyprus and North Macedonia

2019 has so far seen two national workshops, organised in Cyprus (April) and North Macedonia (June), within the ENgage project, which aims at enhancing the participation of national standardisation bodies and environmental NGOs in standardisation.

ECOS Policy Director Christoforos Spiliotipoulos and Programme Manager Lindsey Wuisan took active part in these events as speakers.

In Nicosia, Cyprus, the workshop was hosted by the national standards body CYS and focused on standards that address climate change adaptation, mitigation and greenhouse gas emission reporting.

The workshop hosted by national standards body ISRM in Skopje, North Macedonia, focused on air quality monitoring using standards and particularly the role of Ecodesign to lower emissions from solid fuel heaters and boilers.

The workshops provided an opportunity to not only showcase the importance of standards in tackling specific environmental issues but also to inspire civil society actors to get involved in standardisation.
