ECOS is rebranding! Discover our new logo and name behind the acronym

By Kasia Koniecka

ECOS is turning twenty! Since our founding in 2001, we have experienced significant growth, becoming a well-respected international environmental NGO, and a trusted and valued partner for standardisers and policymakers. Today, we are thrilled to unveil our new, modern brand identity, which marks a very important milestone in our journey.

It is not ‘only’ a change to our logo. We have a new name, vision and mission statements, and fine-tuned messaging.

ECOS is becoming Environmental Coalition on Standards. The new branding, together with a coherent narrative and a more memorable name behind our well-established acronym, expresses the high level of expertise and professionalism that we stand for.

Why the change?

We feel that our 20th anniversary is a perfect opportunity not only to reminisce but, above all, to look into the future. We want to give ECOS a visual identity which will be fit for the years to come, and express the ideas we strive to embody: the unique combination of environmental protection and a deep level of technical expertise.

We also thought that our old full name was rather complicated. While we feel very attached to our acronym ‘ECOS’, we needed a name behind it that would better explain what it is that we do, as well as represent our  international outlook.

ECOS is still ECOS

While the change seems rather significant, we want to assure you that our core values have not changed one bit. Our goal is to push for the highest level of environmental ambition, always and everywhere.

ECOS is co-funded by the European Commission and EFTA Funded by the European Union.
