CEER Network Tariffs Expert Roundtable

ECOS was invited to speak at an expert roundtable organised by the Council of European Energy Regulators (CEER) on best practice guidelines on distribution network tariffs, in a panel on customer comprehension of different price formulas and how to influence their behaviour through tariff design and expected distributional effects. Taking decarbonisation of the European power system as the natural starting point, ECOS Policy Officer Thomas Willson argued for a distributional tariff structure that encourages a more efficient use of distribution networks, recognise the benefits of distributed generation in avoiding system costs, and enable consumers to benefit from demand flexibility.
