Call for experts: Plastics

ECOS is looking for experts in the field of plastics to represent environmental interests in the development of standards. Experts will provide technical and scientific input into discussions, in accordance with the related policy context and ECOS strategy. Relevant types of expertise include: plastics recycling and re-use, recycled plastic contents, plastic waste stream management and microplastics pollution (incl. ecotoxicological aspects).

The nominated expert(s) will represent ECOS and contribute to our work in these technical committees:

  • CEN/TC 261/SC 4: ‘Packaging & Environment’, including Working Groups 3 on Material Recovery
  • CEN/TC 249/WG 11: ‘Plastics recycling’
  • ISO/TC 61/SC 5: ‘Physical-Chemical properties’, including ad-hoc Group on Microplastics
  • CEN-CLC JWG 11: ‘Sustainable Chemicals’, with a focus on recycled plastic content and plastic as a secondary raw material
