ECOS is hiring! – (Senior) Programme Manager – Climate Change
We are looking for an experienced (Senior) Programme Manager to drive forward our work on policies and standards to fight climate change.

Deadline: 11 August
The role will focus particularly on carbon neutrality at the international level, carbon accounting and measurement, geoengineering, and adaptation. You will be globally focussed, undertake advocacy work through public facing campaigns and contribute to technical discussions, including the drafting of international standards.
Your main tasks will be to:
- Develop and implement ECOS strategy and positioning on climate change-related topics, including on accounting methods (including sector-specific requirements for energy-intensive industries, or buildings), carbon neutrality claims, and adaptation to climate change.
- Promote environmental interests in the proposal, development and revision of international and European policies and standards to in the area of Climate Change, particularly on carbon accounting, carbon neutrality, radiative forcing management or adaptation.
- Produce impactful materials and strategies in response to targets and opportunities stemming from policy and standardisation.
- Coordinate several projects, activities, but also with other team members and technical experts to support our work and impact in this area.
- Represent ECOS in relevant meetings, such as meetings of standardisation organisations (ISO, CEN-CENELEC) or European institutions, UN fora, and workshops, conferences and other platforms.
- Engage and collaborate with our members, other NGOs and relevant stakeholders.
- Prepare funding applications and ensure proper reporting to funders
- Assess independent industry initiatives on carbon emissions
Skills and experience required:
- University degree in environmental sciences, social sciences, or relevant discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience on environment-related topics
- Relevant experience working with climate change-related policies at EU and/or international level
- Experience in developing & implementing strategies to achieve change, ideally through coalitions or campaigns
- Commitment to the values, vision and mission of environmental NGOs
- Strong analytical skills & ability to translate technical information into digestible information
- Excellent time and project management skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Excellent writing, communication, networking and negotiation skills
- Fluent English, other languages an asset

*The salary level of the candidate will be determined according to the relevant work experience for the role (Programme Manager/Senior Programme Manager) and the number of years within the position (0-18+ years).
