  • EU accounting methodology for recycled plastic content

The European Commission's proposed mass balance accounting methodology for calculating recycled plastic content does not align with the goals of the Single-Use Plastic Directive (SUPD) to ensure the circular use of plastics. We need a trustworthy, transparent and clear methodology, in line with the EU circular economy and competitiveness agenda, that will support of an actual reduction of virgin plastic use and respect the level playing field between different recycling technologies.

  • We need ambitious targets for recycled plastic content in EU vehicle regulation

To increase the circularity of the automotive sector we need to bridge design and end-of-life vehicle treatment and drive the demand for circular and low-carbon materials. In our joint letter - with representatives from waste management, recycling, automotive suppliers, and NGOs - we call on EU lawmakers to uphold the ambitious standards set by the European Commission’s proposed Regulation on End-of-Life Vehicles (ELVR).
