EU Single Market Strategy 2025 – Call for evidence
In our response to the EU's call for evidence on the EU Single Market strategy, we outline the need for the Single Market to adapt - to mitigate climate change and to keep natural resource use within planetary boundaries. Sustainable products and circular business models need become the norm, underpinned by a set of powerful tools: ambitious requirements, robust technical standards inclusive of civil society organisations, and enhanced compliance.
ECOS has submitted a response to the European Commission’s call for evidence on the strategy, which you can also download below.
The objective of the EU’s Single Market Strategy is the further development of a single market that enables companies to scale up and compete globally and for citizens to make use of the opportunities the single market offers them.
The European Commission’s ambition is that the Strategy will promote the cross-border provision of services and cross-border movement of goods. It will strive to ensure the existing rules are fully implemented, to remove existing regulatory and administrative barriers and to prevent new ones.
