The culture of fast fashion has resulted in mountains of textile waste; a large share of textiles collected in the EU is exported to Africa and Asia, where the social and environmental costs of disposal fall disproportionately on vulnerable stakeholders. In this joint position paper with EEB, we outline policy recommendations to reshape the textile trade - including EU exports of textile waste and related policies.
