ECOS to meet ENgage project partners

Work under the recently started ENgage project is now going at full speed. This three-year project is a partnership of ECOS, CEN and the National Standardisation Bodies of Romania, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Malta and the Czech Republic. It also engages environmental NGOs based in all these countries. It aims at involving national standards bodies and NGOs in the environmental standardisation developments, and more specifically the work taking place within CEN Strategic Advisory Body on Environment (SABE).

In the coming months, ECOS will visit the partners’ countries and have an opportunity to meet all project partners and NGOs. We will discuss the respective roles and expectations in the ENgage project and organise the future cooperation and inputs. ECOS will also give the environmental NGOs involved in each country a personalised training on standardisation and how environmental matters are tackled, with a view to help them contribute to the project goals..

In April, ECOS visited the Cypriot Standardisation Body CYS and the environmental NGO Terra Cypria. We are now planning our next visit to Latvia in August, and soon after to Lithuania and Bulgaria.
