ECOS supports the new industrial fans standard

ECOS has recently expressed its support for the new FprEN 17166 standard for fans, by submitting a favourable Opinion during the standard’s Formal Vote in March 2019. The result of the vote was positive and standard can now proceed to publication.

The proposed standard includes positive provisions regarding the use of verification tolerances and anti-circumvention practices. It also proposes different measurement options and a useful explanatory note on fans integrated in other energy-related-products.

However, ECOS has also proposed several recommendations to further improve the measurement method in view of the next revision.
