ECOS is hiring – Programme Managers, Energy-intensive industries
We are looking for two highly motivated Programme Managers to join our team and reinforce our engagement in the development of policy and standards to accelerate the low carbon transition of energy-intensive industries. The roles will focus on reducing the energy demand from industrial processes, shifting to clean and renewable energy sources, on the one hand, and reducing the environmental impacts of basic materials (cement and steel) to decarbonise the built environment and promote circularity in the sector on the other.

Your main tasks will be to:
- Promote environmental interests in the proposal, development and revision of international and European policies and standards in the field of energy-intensive industry decarbonisation, in cooperation with ECOS nominated experts and member organisations
- Contribute to the work of a multi-stakeholder coalition coordinated by ECOS looking at decarbonising energy-intensive industries
- Select, manage, and oversee technical experts to assist our work
- Represent ECOS in relevant meetings, such as meetings of standardisation organisations or European institutions, UN fora, and workshops, conferences and other platforms
- Engage and collaborate with our members, other NGOs and stakeholders
- Develop regular updates, briefings, positions and publications for our target audiences
- Prepare funding applications and ensure proper reporting to funders
Skills and experience required:
- University degree in environmental sciences, social sciences, or relevant discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience on environment-related topics
- Familiarity with industrial and/or energy policies at EU and/or international level
- Demonstrated experience in developing & implementing strategies to achieve change, ideally through coalitions or campaigns
- Commitment to the values, vision and mission of environmental NGOs
- Strong analytical skills & ability to translate technical information into digestible information
- Excellent time and project management skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Excellent writing, communication, networking and negotiation skills
- Fluent English, other languages an asset

- An open-ended Belgian contract with a competitive salary package between €3.200 – €4.130 according to the ECOS salary scale and depending on skills and relevant experience of the candidate
