Circular economy standardisation
ECOS is looking for experts in Circular economy standardisation to represent and defend environmental interests in the development of standards and related policies. Our experts provide us with technical and scientific input and represent ECOS in standardisation processes and multi-stakeholder discussions.

ECOS is actively engaged in standardisation work at international and European level, including within ISO Technical Committee 323 and CEN Technical Committee 473 both on Circular Economy. This work covers the development of standards on circular economy definitions and principles, management systems, measurement frameworks, indicators, and extended producer responsibility.
To support this engagement, ECOS is building a pool of experts with strong technical knowledge and experience in circular economy and standardisation processes. We are looking for experts with demonstrated experience and in-depth knowledge in one or more of the following areas:
- Circular economy concepts, strategies and implementation.
- Circular economy measurement frameworks and indicators.
- Circular economy management systems.
- Extended Producer Responsibility schemes.
- Environmental performance assessment.
- ISO and/or CEN standardisation procedures and multi-stakeholder negotiations.
The nominated experts will:
- Participate in technical meetings of ISO and CEN meetings to promote ECOS position.
- Prepare technical input through official comments and contribution to ECOS position papers.
- Report to and liaise with the responsible ECOS Staff.
- Exchange information with ECOS member organisations and other experts when needed.
ECOS offers:
- A daily fee for preparation of meetings, participation and reporting, as well as other relevant tasks.
- Reimbursement of travel costs.
- Per diem to cover accommodation and subsistence costs.
