With their broad range of applications – from construction to tyres, from cosmetics to toys – bio-based products can help improve the environmental impact of products. Wholly or partly derived from biomass, bio-based products can help replace synthetic materials, such as chemicals or plastics. However, their use needs to be balanced and sustainable.
ECOS is part of STAR Pro-Bio, a research and innovation project aimed at developing regulations and standards for bio-based products, as well as boosting the market-pull and promoting market uptake for these products. As part of the project we are organising a survey to learn more about how consumers and professionals perceive bio-based products, and what their concerns and expectations may be.
Are you a consumer?
As a consumer, would you buy bio-based products? If so, why and what would influence your choice to do so? You can access the survey here. It is available in English, French, German, Spanish and Italian.
Are you a professional?
Do you work on issues related to bio-based products? Then please feel free to fill out the survey for professionals.
