The CEN-CENELEC Societal Toolbox was launched on the occasion of the CEN-CENELECNew Year Cocktail Reception on 22 January.
In her speech, ECOS Vice-President Claudia Kuss-Tenzer stressed that the Toolbox was a first step towards fully integrating all stakeholders including civil societal ones in the European standardisation process, and called for National Standards Bodies to replicate it to facilitate NGOs’ involvement at national level. ECOS is now working with the same partners on an e-learning tool for societal stakeholders.
Claudia Kuss-Tenzer is the Manager of the UK Sustainability Network for Standardisation (UK SNS). Funded by the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation, the UK SNS is a UK-wide initiative to safeguard sustainability and environmental protection in the realm of standardisation, one of the defining aspects of modern life.
