We are delighted to invite you to our end-of-year conference, dedicated to fostering the engagement of NGOs in standardisation at national level.

This one-day event will aim to share best practices and ideas from national NGOs (including ECOS members), national authorities, national standards bodies, and other national actors, and identify barriers and opportunities to further engage environmental NGOs in standardisation at national level. It will also be a perfect opportunity to hear about the hands-on experience and lessons learnt from AccESS, our pilot project, whose objective is to break down barriers and help national environmental NGOs participate in the European Standardisation System.

Keynote speeches from Radek Maly (European Commission) and Elena Santiago Cid (CEN-CENELEC) will be followed by an engaging panel debate, while after lunch we will work in smaller groups to devise a “model toolkit” for civil society stakeholders who wish to become active in standardisation. We will finish the day with a networking cocktail, an opportunity for the participants to freely continue their discussions.

When and where?

The conference will take place on 5 December at BIP, located in the heart of Brussels, at Rue Royale 2-4 (click here to view the map).
