ECOS works to develop the draft standardisation request for air conditioners

This preliminary standardisation request concerns the development of harmonised standards for air conditioners and focuses on methods for measuring and calculating the seasonal space heating and cooling energy efficiencies and the sound power.

Various stakeholders within CEN/CENELEC meet and discuss their views within the SRAHG group, where ECOS is also present.

ECOS welcomes this standardisation request. However, we have also identified a number of missing aspects such as material efficiency, reference to representativeness of harmonised standards and improved wording on the provision to deter circumvention.

The consolidated CEN/CENELEC position on the standardisation request has been sent to the European Commission for consideration.
