ECOS Experts Handbook launched during the ECOS-CEN training on standardisation
In October, ECOS, in cooperation with CEN, organised a training on how to promote and defend environmental interests in the development of European standards. The training gathered our members, experts and environmental NGO partners from across Europe. The participants heard from experienced ECOS experts and staff, CEN and the European Commission. Interactive sessions helped participants learn about how standards interact with European laws, what rights ECOS and its representatives have in the standardisation process. They also heard from existing ECOS experts and staff how they had positively impacted on the development of standards to the benefit of the environment.
ECOS also used the training to launch its brand-new handbook, “Representing ECOS in the Standardisation System: Your Introductory Guide”. This accessible guide summarises many of the topics relevant to our experts and members, such as introducing the standardisation system and how to influence it, as well as outlines the trainings available. This document has been prepared exclusively for our experts and members.
